Jennifer Marshall – Career in the Military

From 1999 to 2004, Jennifer served as an Aviation Logistics Specialist at the United States Navy. During the course of which, she attained the rank of E5 and also deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Five years after, she transitioned out of the military and pursued college.

She is thankful for the GI Bill, which helped fund her education. Through it, she completed two undergraduate degrees and a year of her Master’s degree.

Audition for a Musical Theatre Group

Her journey in the entertainment industry started from an audition for a musical theatre group. The group was located at Little Creek Base in Norfolk.

She got the core part in her first audition. In her second audition, she got the part of Glinda in the Wizard of Oz. She advanced her career with acting classes.

A Can-Do Attitude Wins

There was no stopping Jennifer from achieving what she wanted to do. She was on vocational rehab around the time she was still starting in her newfound career.

But there was no funding available for any acting programs. Nevertheless, she made her way through the industry. As she said, you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Now, she has amassed over 50 credits in television and film. They include Stranger Things, Colony, Timeless, General Hospital and Days of Our Lives. She also participates in Veteran causes, including Pin-Ups for Vets, Veterans in Media and Entertainment, Run Ranger Run, and Walk for Warriors.
