While looking for things to do, Garth did his first job in the civilian side. He even became one of the first responders in the 9/11 attack. He’s still in the reserve force and serves as the battalion commander in Pasadena, California.

Taking the Leap

Garth shares how several of his officers return home from serving overseas only to find changes in the jobs they previously had. Sometimes there are new opportunities that open up.

According to him, this is why the battalion is trying to tie veterans with opportunities when they return. A number are looking for ways to transition.
