A core issue facing veterans and military families is the mental and physical scars sustained during military service. The Cohen Veterans Network, a not-for-profit philanthropic organization, was created to serve these service members and their families by providing high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care.

Mission

The Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) seeks to improve the quality of life for veterans, including those from the National Guard and Reserves, and their families. CVN works to strengthen mental health outcomes and complement existing support, with a particular focus on post-traumatic stress.

The vision of the organization is to ensure that every veteran and family member is able to obtain access to effective care that enables him or her to lead fulfilling and productive lives.

Approach

Mental wounds are just as difficult to heal as physical wounds – and treating them is just as important. Through their national network of Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics, veterans and their families are eligible for low to no-cost, personalized, and evidence-based mental health care along with access to comprehensive case management support and referrals to deal with other stresses like unemployment, finances, housing, and legal issues.

What Cohen Veterans Network Offers

Cohen Veterans offer brief, client-centered therapy for a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, adjustment issues, anger, grief and loss, family issues, transition challenges, relationship problems, and children’s behavioral problems.

The expected wait between first contact and a first appointment at a Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic is less than one week. If you are in crisis, the Cohen Clinics Network will schedule you an appointment on the same day you contact them.

All post-9/11 veterans and their families are eligible for treatment, regardless of insurance or the ability to pay.
